- Prepare the surface: make sure your surfaces are clean and smooth for best results.
- Prepare the tiles:Tiles should be soaked for appropriate time before installation.
- Plan the layout: Find the center of your wall and use a carpenter’s level to mark vertical and horizontal lines
- Mix thoroughly: Mix the appropriate thin set for your project to a toothpaste consistency
- Apply mortar: First apply mortar using the flat of the trowel to promote substrate contact.
- Set the tiles: Press tile into mortar with a slight twisting motion ,check often for uniform lines.
- Spacers: It is advisable to use tile spacers to ensure accurate spacing
- Tap down tile: To prevent any voids or air packets under the tile,carefully tap the top of each tile to ensure complete contact with mortar.
- Cure: Allow the tile to cure for 24 hrs without disturbance.
- Grout: After the tiles have all been installed and left for 24 hrs,it’s time to grout the tiles!
